"A Real Pleasure"

The GIQ, a Woodwind Quartet/Quintet, organized and superbly led by Carole Scott, is a wonderful musical organization. It has played twice at the Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church, onChristmas Eve of 2016 and 2017. It was a real pleasure to have those players, both as stand-alone performers, and as accompaniment for the choir anthems. I would recommend the group to anyone wanting a quality woodwind choir.

"Quality Entertainment... Professional and Jovial"

It has been our pleasure on several occasions to have The Grosse Ile Quartet/Quintet perform for our residents at Island Woods Senior Apartments. The residents are always very pleased and look forward to their performances every time we have had the honor of hosting them. Not only do they play beautifully, but they are very punctual and respectful of our seniors, and the events are always met with overwhelming participation.  I would encourage groups of any age to welcome The Grosse Ile Quartet/Quintet and schedule them for any type of event in which you need quality entertainment combined, with a very professional and jovial atmosphere.,

"Shared Their Joy in Performing Together"

The Grosse Ile Quintet graced the Crystal Beach Cottagers’ Association’s Chapel in the Woods Annual Memorial Service with their wonderful skills and beautiful playing during the service of remembrance in July, 2016.   These talented musicians prepared, practiced, and performed because they know each other in their community in Grosse Ile and shared their joy in performing together with us ‘up north’ in Frankfort on the shores of beautiful Crystal Lake.  We look forward to enjoying their beautiful music again this July.  Thank you!

"Classical to Ragtime to Modern... Recommended"

In January, the Grosse Ile ensemble performed a concert for band students at West Middle School in Taylor.  The ensemble performed a range of music from classical to ragtime to modern.  The students had the opportunity to watch and listen to quality musicians.  Although the students enjoyed the concert, they specifically enjoyed “breakout sessions” with members of the group.  Our students were able to work on one of their festival pieces with members of the group.  Our concert band also enjoyed working with Mr. Douglas Scott as a guest conductor.  I highly recommend The Grosse Ile Quintet and will use them in the future.

"Outstanding Professional Musicians"

Having all of my band students experience a live performance of outstanding professional musicians was incredible.  The students were very engaged in the performance and especially enjoyed hearing some instruments that were new to them.   It was also extremely valuable to have the GIQ members perform with our top ensemble and give feedback and instruction to the large group as well as working with our students attending Solo and Ensemble.  Thanks again to the group for sharing their talent and promoting music education.
